Are we really doing all that we can to
stop the spread of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and the
resulting acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS)? It would seem
not, judging from the speed with which the pandemic is gaining
ground. Responses to HIV and AIDS – outside the domain of public
health initiatives – still remain quite limited. Could responses to
HIV and AIDS be improved? The answer is yes.
